Hello! My name is Akiko Manabe and I'm going to be the school manager of Sunrise Kids International School
Yokohama. I have worked at a major English conversational school called AEON for about 18 years
teaching English to kids and adults. For about 13 out of 18 years, I have helped a lot of kids learn English as a kids head teacher. From now on, I will make the most of my experience and knowledge and do my best to make the best
environment for your kids to grow and learn English. I look forward to meeting you in person.

Mr. J (vice principal)
It's not too much to say that child care is very important in my life. It makes my life feel worthwhile, and I can grow as a teacher along with the kids.
I want kids to be interested in life and events from all over the world through learning and communicating in English. And, of course, I want to share big smiles and exciting times here at Sunrise Kids!!
Ms. Mina
Hello!! My name is Mina . My hobby is traveling. I like going to new places.
I became interested in English at all, and couldn't communicate while traveling. I worked for 6 years at a childcare center in Yokohama. I looked after children from 0 to 5 years old. It was my childhood dream to become a nursery school teacher.
I wanted to support children as their dreams came true, as well as challenge myself with new things, so I decided to go on exchange. So I went to Australia and stayed for 1 year. I studied English at language school, after I worked at cafe with Australian. I lived with a host family; it was so much fun. I felt that I would like to work at a childcare center and I would like to use English with kids.
I am so happy to be working at Sunrise!!I would like to have a lot of experiences with kids, as well as understand the kids feelings and grow together. Let's have fun! Thank you.

Ms. Yukika
Hello! My name is Yukika. I am very thrilled to have the opportunity to teach all the kids in Sunrise!
First, please let me introduce myself. During my childhood, I lived in Detroit, Michigan for six years and went to kindergarten and elementary school and learned English. After those years, I came back to Japan.
However, I wanted to become a ”bridge” which connects Japan and other countries, so I chose to study abroad again. In university, I met lots of students with big future goals which made my days very inspiring. Also, I studied second language development for children and learned the infinite possibilities they have. This experience made my future goal to become an English teacher. After graduation, I worked as a SE and technical support; however, I have decided to start my dream career.
English will be a very important tool to communicate with people from all over the world and will give the kids lots of chances to achieve their future goals.
I hope I can help Sunrise kids to be brave and strong enough to achieve. In addition, I love to dance, so I'm excited to dance with the kids in future events! Thank you!

Ms. Megumi
Hello everyone. My name is Megumi. I was born and raised in Yokohama. Nice to meet you. I first discovered that I loved studying English when I was in junior high school. I was enrolled in an English course where I went to the U.S. and stayed with a host family. Since that time, I have always wanted to improve my English skills. After graduating high school, I made the decision to study abroad again and I went to California. It was the biggest, and best,
decision of my life, and is now one of my most valuable experiences.
After graduating, I asked myself what I wanted to do. I remembered that when I was young I had wanted to be a nursery teacher. Fortunately, I was able to start working at an international school in Tokyo. At this school, I looked after 1 year old to elementary school students.
Learning English as your second language can be very tough, but you can still have lots of fun while you’re doing it. I'd love to share all my positive feelings and encourage the children to develop to their full potential. I look forward to working with everyone!
Ms. Maaya
Hello everyone! My name is Maaya. Nice to meet you. I love baking cakes, watching movies, going out for new places, and of course playing with kids!
I was born and raised in Kanagawa. I have been learning English since I was 1. When I was little, I remember I was always with my mom and loved to sing English songs with her. Being adult, I gradually began to think that I want to enhance my English language skill more, so I enrolled American university, majoring Asian Studies and minoring Political Science. Studying there was so hard for me, but was one of my precious memories in my life.
At first I worked in trading company as sales, but I decided to come to Sunrise because I thought I would like to help enhancing children’s English ability, and broadening their dreams.
I am so happy to be here as a member of Sunrise Kids! I will be by your side and would like to help you grow up. Let’s play and have a lot of fun together!
Ms. Azusa
Hello!! I’m Azusa from Osaka. So happy to meet you!! I enjoy traveling and watching movies. (In particular the Ghibli and Disney movies) I’m honored to join the Sunrise family!!
Let me introduce myself. My childhood dream was to be a nursery teacher. I loved spending time with kids and taking care of my younger brother. After going to junior high school, I had an opportunity to meet foreign people. I wanted to talk to them, but I couldn’t. I was irritated with myself not being able to speak English well, so I decided to be fluent in English. By going to foreign language university, studying abroad and going volunteer, I met many people from different countries, backgrounds, and cultures. It changed my world. My point of view was widened and learned accepting and respecting “differences” of culture and uniqueness of people. It led me to love myself as I am. Through learning English, I learned the importance of having goals and making an effort. Learning English enables us to expand our possibilities in many ways!! So, I decided to work in a job related to English education.
I’ll do my best to support Sunrise kids!! I’m looking forward to meeting you and having a fun time together!!
Ms. Takako
Hello! I am Takako. I am privileged to work in Sunrise Kids International!
I've learned English and been interested in culture abroad since I was little. I got a great opportunity to study abroad for two years in the US, and graduated from local high school there. After graduation, I came back to Japan to study English education and cross-cultural communication in University and worked for global IT company at first.
Through those experience, I've realized how much English itself expands our perspective and gives us opportunities in many ways. This made me decide to work for children to have the same (or even greater!) experience as mine, and now I am here at Sunrise! I will do my best to support children and school!
Mr. Kengo
Hello! My name is Kengo Fujiwara!
As a clerk, I became a member of Sunrise Kids International School Yokohama School.
Although he is a clerk, he has a childcare worker qualification and a kindergarten teacher's license.
I would like to grow up with the children so that they can play an active role as an unsung hero.
Thank you!
Mr. Steven
Hello, everyone! I'm Mr. Steven, it's a pleasure to meet you!
I am from a small town in England called Dover. I live a very active and fun life. For starters, I work at Sunrise Kids! It's one of the most fun parts of my life. I enjoy a wide variety of sports like, running, calisthenics and football (soccer). Some of my favourite places to go, in Japan, are the free-to-use athletic parks with exercise equipment and running tracks, particularly Sagamisansen park, in Ebina.
Other than sports, I thoroughly enjoy embracing the Japanese culture by attending festivals in traditional, Japanese clothes like, jinbei or yukatta and praying at shrines and temples. As for teaching, I truly believe that the children are the future, and with the rapid growth of English being used all around the world, for non-English speakers to learn English will greatly increase their prospects and also expose them to another culture to develop them and prepare them for the smaller world that we now inhabit. So I am very privileged to have the opportunity to teach all the kids at Sunrise! Let's have fun!
